How We Vet Foundation Repair Contractors
Last updated: June 2025
When you request quotes through FoundationQHub, we connect you with contractors who have passed our initial screening. Here's what that includes.
What We Check
State Contractor Licensing
We verify that contractors hold a valid contractor's license in the state(s) where they operate. Licensing requirements vary by state - in Texas, for example, foundation repair contractors are not separately licensed (general contractor license applies), while other states have specific structural contractor licenses. We check applicable licensing for each state's requirements.
General Liability Insurance
Contractors must carry active general liability insurance before being admitted to our network. We collect certificates of insurance and flag lapsed policies. We recommend homeowners request current certificates of insurance directly from any contractor before work begins.
Complaint Review
We review contractor complaint history on consumer review platforms and state licensing board complaint records. Contractors with patterns of unresolved complaints, fraud allegations, or regulatory action are excluded.
Active Service Area Verification
We verify contractors are actively operating in the areas they claim to serve before routing leads to them.
What We Do Not Guarantee
Our vetting is an initial screen - it is not a quality guarantee or endorsement. We do not guarantee:
- Repair quality or outcome
- That a contractor's license is current at the time of work
- That a contractor's insurance is active at the time of work
- That a contractor will honor their warranty
We strongly recommend homeowners:
- Request and verify current license and insurance documents directly from the contractor
- Get written quotes with detailed scope of work
- Check recent reviews and references independently
- Confirm permits are pulled before work begins
- Review warranty terms in writing before signing
Contractor Removal
We remove contractors from our network upon verified reports of fraud, license revocation, or failure to resolve legitimate homeowner complaints. If you have a concern about a contractor you were matched with, contact us at support@foundationquotehub.com.
